Hiring For Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Detail:
Experience : 4 – 6 Years

Location : Mumbai – Hybrid
Shift : UK 12 – 8 PM

Primary Skills : SQL Database administration, Disaster recovery, Database design, SQL Injections, Reporting / SSRS, Jenkins
Personal Responsibilities: The Database Administrator (DBA) will work within the Data Services department and be required to develop a deep understanding of the in-house applications and environments. The DBA will be involved in cross-team tasks and projects and be required to liaise with infrastructure, development, support and implementation teams.

Experience required for role: 

Two or more years of SQL server database experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
Microsoft certification (preferred)
Database Management
Assisting in installing, configuring, upgrading\patching and monitoring a SQL Server estate
Supporting day-to-day availability of all database servers and proactively addressing issues under guidance.
Have experience working with application databases
Assisting in performance-tuning databases including basic query tuning and index analysis
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving database-related problems, such as database connectivity, performance degradation, slow queries, locking\blocking\deadlocking, data corruption and hardware issues
Familiarity with SQL replication, both merge and transactional.
Assist in capacity planning activities
Basic understanding of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MS SQL Server and Windows clustering.
Knowledge of backup/recovery best practices.
Familiarity with database maintenance strategies, including scheduling jobs, managing database statistics, and performing database health checks
Knowledge of data encryption techniques
Understanding of release management and SDLC process
Database Design and Development
Participate in design reviews and offer input
Be able to perform SQL code reviews under guidance
Security & Compliance
Assist in implementing and enforcing database security policies, standards, and procedures
Monitor database access and activity to detect and mitigate security threats under guidance.
Stay up to date with the latest security vulnerabilities and best practices for securing SQL Server databases.
Assisting in conducting database security assessments and audits under guidance
Basic understanding of networking protocols
Stay abreast of the latest tools, trends and security threats and share knowledge with cross-functional teams
Documentation, Collaboration & Reporting
Assist in providing guidance and support to other team members
Ability to effectively communicate
Document troubleshooting steps for future reference
